Mumbai: Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta recorded a statement at the Oshiwara police station on Wednesday in connection to the complaint letter submitted on October 6. In her letter, Dutta said she lodged her complaint for the registration of FIR under Sections 354, 354 (A), Section 34 and Section 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). In the said letter, Dutta has alleged veteran actor Nana Patekar, director Rakesh Sarang, choreographer Ganesh Acharya and producer Samee Siddiqui of molesting her.
Dutta arrived at the police station late on Wednesday evening, clad in a burqa. Police sources said Dutta came along with two female witnesses, one an hair-dresser, the other a make-up artist. The witnesses have given a statement corroborating with the sequence of events earlier mentioned by Dutta. On Tuesday night, Dutta’s legal representative advocate Nitin Satpute submitted crucial evidence in the form of documents in support of her complaint letter.
Police said after the statement is recorded and allegations have been proved, we may lodge an FIR as per the demand stated in the complaint letter. However, this process may or may not take time, added police. At the time of going to the print, Advocate Nitin Satpute said, “We will ask the police to register an FIR as the allegations levelled are of serious nature.”
